Sponsor Spotlight: Regal Cottage

Hello, and welcome back to the Etsy Dallas Blog! We're so pleased and proud to welcome back our next Jingle Bash sponsor - Regal Cottage!

Regina Frydman, owner and designer, is the brainchild behind this super cute line of children's toys and gifts. However, Regal Cottage is truly a family affair. While Regina designs, illustrates, and sews all of her products, her husband loves woodworking and handles the bookkeeping, and their four kids are designated as the "in-house product review committee." And some Etsy Dallas members are also product testers – just ask Rori of MadeByRori!

Regina makes all products in her home studio from eco-friendly base materials, such as vegan leather and organic fabrics. She’s made a bunch of new items this past season that are crazy adorable, so be sure to stop by her booth!

You can see more of Regina's work on her Facebook page, her blog, and her Instagram account. And on November 21st, swing by the Southside Events Center at Gilley's Dallas from 11 am to 6 pm to see her in person!

Ever since, she's been producing wholesome, comfortable children's clothing and accessories. Her designs are made for girls aged 12 months to 12 years, and the designs are seriously great. Holly has been working on releasing a whole new line of clothing, and there are some really unique designs coming to this year’s Bash.

See you this weekend!!

Shop Spotlight: Kathleen Care Jewelry

As we gear up to the Jingle Bash in just 9 days, we're taking a teensy break from our regularly scheduled programming for another Shop Spotlight post. It's been a month or two, so if you're just joining us, let us recap for you!

Etsy Dallas is extremely proud of its members, and this summer, we decided to start a series of blog posts that highlights the various shops that make up our awesome team. We've interviewed some really wonderful makers - all of which you can see here.

This time around, we're showcasing Kathleen Care Jewelry - one of our longtime members.

What year did you open your shop? 2010
What is your shop's motto? Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. The more you leave out, the more you emphasize what you leave in.

What is your favorite item that you sell? My favorite item is my wire-weave earrings with garnets (see below).

Fun fact about you: My greatest passion in life (besides family) is travel. I get a lot of inspiration from architectural lines.

How did you get started? I wanted very specific wedding jewelry and couldn't find exactly what I wanted. I decided to make it myself. I designed my wedding ring (but didn't make it myself). I didn't have any experience or classwork in jewelry design and loved what I made. My friends started inquiring about my jewelry and 2 years later, I started my business.

Anything else we should know? I am a very proud mother of twin girls. There is nothing in this world more important than my girls.

//

Thank you so much, Kathleen! We're so happy to have you as a member!

To see more of Kathleen's work, you can swing by the Jingle Bash on November 21st, or you can follow her on any of her social media sites: Facebook // Instagram // Twitter

Sponsor Spotlight: InYourBones

As we gear up for this year's Jingle Bash, we are honored to continue showcasing this year's sponsors!

This year, InYourBones is returning as both a vendor and a sponsor. Gabriela, owner and designer, takes enormous pride in producing one-of-a-kind (and most importantly, FUN) pieces. Her shop name is entirely inspired by her drive to create. When asked by a teacher why she does what she does, she once replied, "Well, when you're passionate about what you do, it's not just in your blood, it's in your bones." This passion drives her to make some truly fun products, and her success has spawned a whole other pursuit – supporting the Texas Husky Rescue. Many of her shows’ proceeds go directly to the rescue.

Check her out on Facebook, Instagram, and her blog, and be sure to stop by her booth on November 21st! She'll be selling her wares from 11 am to 6 pm at the Southside Events Center at Gilley's Dallas.

See you there!

Shop the Bash: Gifts for the Guys

The guys...finding unique, meaningful gifts for the guys can be a challenge, but not at the Jingle Bash. This year's Jingle Bash will have some truly exceptional finds for the men in your life. Get your lists out and let's do a little pre-shopping...

Leather journals from A Cheery Blossom  for him to record all his manly thoughts. They can even be personalized.

A bow tie lapel pin and a pocket square for the holiday parties from Land of the Thread.

This Dallas Skyline Art Poster Print with Sound Waves from Klyde Warren Park Park would be awesome for his office from Voice & Sound.

An artsy t-shirt for casual Fridays by Dowdy Studio.

A Dallas pennant for the man cave from Little Skunk Co.

A clock every science enthusiast can get excited about, but most definitely your chemistry major brother will LOVE this from mini-Fab.

Etched wine glasses, shot glasses or beer tumblers from Monster Dance Designs to add some extra fun to cocktail hour.

I know you get excited at the Jingle Bash about all the things you want for yourself, but really don't forget the guys this time when you are there on November 21st. They will love you for it!

Sponsor Spotlight: DFW Child

Hooray! The Jingle Bash is almost here! We could not bring our favorite handmade shopping event to you without the support of our generous sponsors, so today, let's turn the spotlight on a longtime supporter of Etsy Dallas events, DFWChild .

Parents, no matter where you live in the metroplex, DFWChild has something for you. You can find all the latest local kid-friendly happenings in DallasChildFortWorthChild, and NorthTexasChild. As a Mom of four kids, I personally, can tell you that I never miss the chance to read through an issue of Dallas Child magazine. Those adorable cover kids grab me every time! I have a few favorite sections that I always turn to first, and they are the Kids Eat Free locator (the kids gotta eat, might as well get a deal) and the birthday parties!!! Oh so many adorable party ideas. And then, there are always the intriguing reads. This month's Having It All article really hit home for me.

You can pick up a free copy of Dallas Child at many local kid-friendly businesses and doctors' offices. You can also read each month's digital version on-the-go. If you aren't already following them on your social media feeds, here is where you can find them: FacebookTwitterInstagramPinterest, and Google+

And don't forget to keep an eye out for the upcoming DFW Child-Etsy Dallas Bash Bucks Contest for a chance to win free shopping money at the Jingle Bash

Announcing the 7th Annual Jingle Bash!

Yes friends, it's almost our favorite time of the year! The 7th Annual Jingle Bash will be here before you know it!

This year, we will be back at Gilley's Dallas, but with the addition of an extra room. We have made more space for even more artists, crafters, and makers. We will have lots of your returning local favorites and new guest artists to meet too. We are absolutely thrilled about our lineup this year! You can check out the full lineup on our Artists page

Planning on attending? Helpful Jingle Bash tips:
  • Get there early! Doors open at 11 am, and the first 50 attendees receive limited-edition Bash Bags stuffed with free goodies from sellers.
  • Bring the kids! The Etsy Dallas Jingle Bash is a kid-friendly event! There will be make-and-take crafts for kids and grown-ups alike. There is a restaurant on-site as well for those post-shopping hungries. FYI: crowds can be a challenge to navigate with a stroller, so if you're worried, feel free to come later in the day when the crowds thin a little bit, and you'll be able to shop with ease. You can even eat at the restaurant when you're done!
  • Bring cash as well as cards. Many sellers accept credit cards nowadays, but sometimes it is easier (and quicker) to pay for your purchase with cash. There is an ATM at Gilley's, but if you'd like to avoid fees, you should probably withdraw cash from your bank's ATM.
Over the next few weeks, we will give a preview of all the talented artisans that you will have the chance to meet at the Jingle Bash here on the blog, Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram. Stay tuned and keep up to date with all the latest Bashy info with hashtags #etsydallas and #2015JingleBash.
